Matt White Ceiling Panels – Neptune 250mm × 4m (Pack of 4)

These matt white ceiling panels are Guardian Neptune 250 PVC boards in a flat, low-glare white. Size on this listing: 250mm wide × 4m long × 8.5mm thick, sold in packs of 4 pattern-matched panels.

A pack covers 4m² (4 × 0.25m × 4m). That is enough for many small cloakrooms; a family bathroom ceiling usually needs two packs plus waste and trims.

Matt white ceiling panels hide the old Artex, the stained emulsion and the black specks that grow on bathroom plaster. They click together on a tongue and groove, wipe clean, and do not need grout. Use them on ceilings first — that is what this product is for — and on walls in wet rooms where you want the same quiet white as the soffit of the room.

Matt is the point. Gloss white ceilings bounce every downlighter and show every ripple. These matt white ceiling panels stay calm under spots and natural light.

Also known as: white PVC ceiling cladding, Neptune ceiling panels, 250mm ceiling boards, bathroom ceiling panels, T&G ceiling panels.

How many packs?
Ceiling area (length × width) ÷ 4, then add 10–15% for cuts, edges and the last awkward strip.
Example: 2.4m × 3.0m bathroom = 7.2m² → 2 packs (8m²) is tight; 3 packs is safer once trims and waste are in.
4m lengths mean fewer end joints on a typical room than 2.6m boards — plan the run so joins sit over a joist or in a less obvious bay.

Benefits of matt white ceiling panels

Waterproof face in a wet room
Steam hits the PVC, not the plaster. Used with sealed trims, matt white ceiling panels take bathroom moisture that destroys emulsion.

Mould has nothing to feed on
Painted ceilings stain at the shower and around extractor stains. A sealed PVC face does not hold damp the same way. Ventilate the room as well — panels are not a substitute for an extractor.

Matt, not a glare box
Downlighters on gloss white turn the ceiling into a mirror. Matt keeps the room brighter than a cream paint without the hotspots.

4m boards, 8.5mm thick
Long boards mean fewer butt joints. 8.5mm is a sturdier ceiling board than many 5mm economy planks — it sits flatter between fixings if the joist line is reasonable.

Pack of 4, pattern matched
You are not mixing random factory batches mid-ceiling. Open packs together and blend if you use more than one pack.

Faster than tiling a ceiling
No adhesive beds, no grout haze, no waiting to paint. If the soffit is dry, clean and flat, matt white ceiling panels go up with adhesive and/or hidden fixings and T&G clicks.

Can cover tired tiles or a poor paint finish
Where the old surface is sound, you clad over it instead of stripping the room back to plaster.

Wipe-clean for rentals and family bathrooms
Steam, hairspray and extractor dust wipe off. No annual ceiling refresh.

Walls as well as ceilings
Same board can run down a wet-room wall so the plane matches. Use the correct trims at the change of direction.

Trims finish the job
Edges, internal corners and the wall/ceiling junction are what make a PVC ceiling look fitted rather than temporary.

5-year range warranty
Covered as part of this wet-area panel range — keep the pack notes.

Where matt white ceiling panels work

  • Bathroom and en-suite ceilings
  • Wet rooms and shower rooms
  • Cloakrooms
  • Kitchen and utility ceilings
  • Commercial WCs and changing rooms
  • Any room where paint keeps failing over moisture

They are cladding, not a structural ceiling. Fix into sound joists or a sound boarded soffit. Do not hang heavy fittings from the PVC skin — fix lights and fans through to timber.

4m boards need a van or roof rack. Say if you need them cut for transport — we would rather cut than have a length crack in a car.

How to fit matt white ceiling panels

  1. Acclimatise the pack in the room.
  2. Ceiling must be dry, clean and reasonably flat. Repair loose plaster or tiles.
  3. Plan the run so the last strip is not a sliver. Centre the layout if the room is on show.
  4. Fit a starter trim at the wall if you are using one.
  5. Cut matt white ceiling panels face-up or as the maker specifies, with a fine blade.
  6. Click the tongue and groove. Support long 4m lengths — they flex until fixed.
  7. Bond with panel adhesive to the soffit and/or fix through the tongue into joists.
  8. Seal the perimeter and any penetrations (lights, fan) with sanitary silicone.
  9. Wipe the matt face with a soft cloth. No abrasive cream.

This is an overview. Follow the Neptune / pack instructions for expansion gaps and adhesive type.

Frequently asked questions

What size are the matt white ceiling panels?
250mm × 4m × 8.5mm, pack of 4, covering 4m².

Are they waterproof?
The PVC face is waterproof. The ceiling is only as good as the trims, seals and a dry substrate.

Matt or gloss?
Matt white ceiling panels for less glare. Gloss if you want a brighter, more “bathroom suite” bounce.

Can they go on walls too?
Yes — same board. Detail showers with the right trims.

Will they cover Artex?
If the Artex is sound and the surface is even enough for adhesive. Heavy peaks may need flattening first.

How many packs for my bathroom?
Area ÷ 4, then add waste. We will check from a sketch.

Do you fit as well as supply?
Ask us. Supply is standard; fitting can be arranged on suitable jobs.

Collection or delivery?
Both. Showcase Plastics, Unit 6, Heybridge Industrial Estate, Maldon CM9 4XL.
