Ogee Gutter 4m

Ogee gutter is a moulded uPVC rainwater gutter with the classic S-curve face you see on Victorian and Edwardian houses — and on newer homes that want that period line instead of a plain half-round.

Product Description

Ogee Gutter

Size on this listing: 120mm × 70mm
Guide roof area: 105m²
SKU: OGRG4 (4 metre lengths)
Colours: Black, White, Brown, Anthracite Grey

An ogee gutter sits on the fascia, shows a decorative front, and still moves a serious amount of water. The 70mm depth gives more capacity than a standard half-round, which is why ogee is often chosen for larger period roofs as well as for the look.

Keep fittings in the same ogee system and colour. Do not clip ogee lengths into half-round or deep-flow unions.

Also known as: OG gutter, ogee guttering, moulded gutter, period gutter, Victorian gutter, 4m ogee.

Choose an ogee gutter when the house already has ogee, cast-iron-style mouldings, or you want that profile on new fascia. Choose half round for a quiet modern/traditional mix. Choose deep flow if capacity matters more than the S-shape.

Capacity still depends on fall and whether the outlet is at the end or in the middle of the run. A centre running outlet serves more roof than a single stop-end outlet.

What an ogee gutter does

  • Collects rain from the roof edge
  • Shows a decorative moulded face on the eaves
  • Carries water to outlets and downpipes
  • Protects fascia, brickwork and foundations

The profile is handed on some fittings (left/right stop ends on certain systems). Dry-lay corners before you cut a full ogee gutter run. Some modern ogee systems are symmetrical — we will tell you which fittings you have.

Tiles should overhang slightly into the channel so water drops in, not down the wall.

Fall, brackets and expansion

Fall
Aim about 1:350 (roughly 3mm per metre) towards the outlet.

Brackets
Typical maximum around 600mm–1000mm depending on the system and exposure — use closer centres in windy or snow-load positions, and always near joints, angles and outlets (about 150mm).

Expansion
Leave the marked gap at unions. Do not glue sealed clip joints.

Outlet
Plumb over the drain. Sit the ogee gutter close under the roof edge so the moulded face still reads cleanly from the ground.

Fittings to order with an ogee gutter

  • Ogee fascia brackets
  • Union joints
  • Internal / external angles (90° and often 135°)
  • Stop ends (handed on some ranges)
  • Running outlet or stop-end outlet
  • Matching downpipe, clips, offsets, shoe

One colour for gutter, brackets and pipe on each elevation.

  4. Clip in each ogee gutter length. Cut with a fine saw; deburr.
  5. Join with ogee unions — seat the seals fully.
  6. Fit the correct internal/external angles.
  7. Add stop ends and connect the downpipe.
  8. Water-test the run.

Follow the system instructions, or ask us to supply and fit.

Frequently asked questions

What is an ogee gutter?
An ogee gutter is a uPVC eaves gutter with a moulded S-shaped front. This one is 120mm × 70mm, in 4m lengths, with a guide drainage area of 105m².

Is ogee the same as half round?
No. Half round is a simple curve. An ogee gutter has a stepped, period face and usually more depth.

Will it fit my old ogee fittings?
Only if it is the same system. Profiles vary — bring a fitting in or send a photo.

Which colour?
Match fascia and frames. Black is the usual “cast iron” look.

Do you fit as well as supply?
Yes.

Collection or delivery?
Both. Showcase Plastics, Unit 6, Heybridge Industrial Estate, Maldon CM9 4XL.
