These Oiled Oak acoustic panels are Zest Elegant Oiled Oak slat wall panels: real oak veneer slats on a rigid acoustic backing. The oil-style finish pulls the grain forward — warmer and more “timber” than a washed or bleached oak — so the wall reads as furniture-grade lining, not a printed plastic plank.
Panel size: 2600mm high × 600mm wide.
That is a tall board. On a standard 2.4m room you have spare length to scribe to the ceiling or skirting. On a higher ceiling you cover more height with fewer horizontal joints.
Each Oiled Oak acoustic panel is a slatted face over felt. The slats break up sound; the felt absorbs it. Together they take the hard edge off echo in plaster-and-glass rooms while giving you a modern feature wall.

| Measure | This Oiled Oak acoustic panel |
|---|---|
| Height | 2600mm (2.6m) |
| Width | 600mm (0.6m) |
| Face coverage | 1.56m² per panel (2.6 × 0.6) |
| Typical slat wall depth | Around 21mm on this style of panel (12mm slat + ~9mm felt — confirm pack) |
| Orientation | Usually vertical slats; horizontal possible if joints are planned |
Wall width in metres ÷ 0.6, then add waste for doors, sockets, corners and scribes.
Example: a 3.6m-wide chimney breast needs 6 full-width boards (3.6 ÷ 0.6) plus offcuts for returns.
Example: a 4.2m office wall needs 7 boards plus waste.
Always measure the finished wall height. At 2600mm you can usually run floor to ceiling in one piece on a 2400mm room; leave a small shadow gap or scribe rather than forcing a crushed fit.
| Finish | Tone | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|
| Oiled Oak acoustic panels (this product) | Warm grain, oil-enhanced | You want oak that looks richer and more natural |
| Contemporary Oak | Crisp mid oak | Cleaner, slightly more modern oak |
| Washed Oak | Pale, soft, Scandi | Grey-white rooms, lighter floors |
| Ash Grey | Grey timber | Cool schemes, offices, media walls |
Same slat idea across the range. Pick the colour against your floor and sofa in daylight — photos flatten oak.

Real veneer varies. Mix Oiled Oak acoustic panels from more than one pack across the wall so grain and colour blend.
Store flat, out of damp and direct sun. Acclimatise in the room for a day before fixing.
1. The room sounds better
Open-plan living, kitchens with hard floors, and offices bounce sound. Voices smear; the TV gets harsh. Oiled Oak acoustic panels put a soft, broken surface on the wall. Felt soaks energy; slats scatter the rest. Speech is clearer. You need less volume. It is comfort, not a nightclub soundproof booth.
2. They are honest timber, not a print
The slats are real oak veneer on three sides. Edges do not flash a cheap paper line when you look along the wall. The oiled finish makes the grain read in changing daylight.
3. One board covers a tall wall
2600 × 600mm means fewer stacked joints than a 2400mm panel on a full-height wall. Less patchwork. Cleaner TV walls.
4. Faster than real boarded joinery
Site-made oak slats mean battens, spacings, oiling and weeks of dust. These Oiled Oak acoustic panels arrive as a finished skin: cut, glue or screw, done.
5. Recycled backing
The rigid felt is 100% recycled plastic. You get acoustic mass without a foam-looking office tile.
6. Sustainable face timber
Oak veneer uses a thin premium face on a stable core — the look of oak lining without a solid-oak wall.
7. Feature and function in one
You are not choosing between a pretty wall and a quieter wall. Oiled Oak acoustic panels are both.
8. Works with the rest of the house
Warm oak sits with mid oak floors, walnut furniture, black metal and stone. If the scheme is very pale, step to Washed Oak instead.
9. Low weekly maintenance
Dust the slats. Do not soak the felt. No yearly varnish cycle like raw timber boarding.
10. DIY-possible, trade-tidy
A competent DIY fixer can do a chimney breast. Trade can line an office over a weekend. Trims and shadow gaps make the difference between “feature” and “bodged”.
What they will not do
They will not stop a drum kit next door. They will not replace fire-rated partitions. They will not survive a shower. Say that upfront and the product looks better, not worse.
Sound hits a flat plaster wall and bounces. Two hard walls opposite each other flutter. A slat wall changes that:
Best results: put Oiled Oak acoustic panels on a large surface — the TV wall, the wall opposite the sofa, or a ceiling run in a hard office. A 600mm strip behind a plant pot will not change the room.
Keep them internal and dry. Not for wet rooms — use Shimmer wall panels or a specified shower sheet there.

What size are the Oiled Oak acoustic panels?
2600mm × 600mm. Coverage 1.56m² per panel.
What are Oiled Oak acoustic panels made of?
Real oak veneer slats (veneer on three sides) on a rigid backing of 100% recycled plastic, with sustainably sourced wood in the slat core.
Do they soundproof a room?
They reduce echo and harshness. They do not isolate a party wall or stop bass on their own.
Oiled Oak or Washed Oak?
Oiled = warmer, grainier. Washed = paler and softer. Look at both in the warehouse if you can.
Can I use them on a ceiling?
Yes if the ceiling can take the fixings and you follow the maker’s method. Walls are the usual job.
Bathroom?
Not in wet zones.
How many for my wall?
Width (m) ÷ 0.6, round up, add waste. Height is usually one 2600mm cut.
Do you fit as well as supply?
Ask us. Supply is standard; fitting can be arranged on suitable jobs.
Collection or delivery?
Both. Showcase Plastics, Unit 6, Heybridge Industrial Estate, Maldon CM9 4XL.
