What a 9mm bullnose window board does indoors

• Covers stained, chipped or out-of-square timber / MDF cills
• Gives a hygienic, wipe-clean surface at the window
• Finishes the window lining so plaster and paint stop against a crisp edge
• Pairs with end caps so cut ends are not left raw

Cut length to the opening plus any “horns” that return into the reveal. Dry-fit first. Bond with a non-solvent adhesive suitable for uPVC, keep the board level both ways, then seal the back edge and ends with decorator’s caulk or a suitable silicone where the detail stays wet.

Used outside, this 9mm bullnose window board profile becomes a bullnose fascia cover. It refreshes the eaves with a rounded bottom edge.

How to fit a 9mm bullnose window board (internal)

1. Measure cill depth and length, including horns into the reveals.
2. Choose a width that covers the old board with the bullnose projecting neatly. Rip the back if needed with a fine-tooth saw.
3. Offer up dry. Mark cuts; keep the bullnose as the visible front.
4. Clean and dry the existing cill. Prime dusty MDF if required.
5. Apply non-solvent adhesive in bands. Do not use solvent-weld / aggressive solvents that can mark uPVC.
6. Set the 9mm bullnose window board level front-to-back and end-to-end.
7. Fit end caps (long or short style) cut to the board thickness / lip.
8. Caulk the wall and frame junctions. Wipe the face clean.

How to fit as 9mm bullnose fascia (overview)

1. Check the existing fascia is solid.
2. Measure height and choose width so the bullnose sits just below the old edge.
3. Fix through into timber with suitable pins or screws and caps.
4. Joints and corners from the matching range — do not leave raw ends on the eaves.
5. Refit gutter brackets through the new face into the backing.
